Colruyt supports several educational projects:

• A schooling project in the refugee camps on the border between Tanzania and Rwanda (in cooperation with NGO Caraes)
  
  
• A training project for young farmers in Indonesia (in cooperation with NGO Vredeseilanden)
  
  
• Our own project in Indonesia through which we wish to improve the quality of education. In this project we provide scholarships to allow more young people to get an education.

All these projects are inspected by Quality Control.

• Development project with rice in Benin

In Collines, a region in the West African Benin, the NGO Vredeseilanden stimulates the production and sale of rice as leverage for the development of the farmer societies. In March 2006 Colruyt decided to step into their project: it was the start of a unique mutual learning process, in which the supermarket, the NGO and the rice farmers try to find one another to develop a sustainable cooperation.
