Keynotes on tech attract many to IT Connect

A technology and networking event designed to bring IT specialists from inside and outside the Colruyt Group together. That’s what IT Connect was all about. It was the opportunity to not only enjoy keynote speeches by highly regarded speakers, but also to network through interactive stands.

Strengthening the IT network

Colruyt Group IT welcomed around 200 participants to IT Connect on 22 September. Our employees had the opportunity to get to know and network with IT specialists from outside the Group over a snack and a drink, setting the tone for a fantastic evening!

Keynotes on technology

IT specialists could pick between two vibrant keynote sessions, introduced by CIO Peter Vanbellingen and Bélise Songa, Young ICT Lady of the Year.

  1. In the first session, crypto expert Brecht Van Craen spoke about crypto assets. International keynote speaker Marc Vael covered topics that included online privacy and security.
  2. In the second session, Thierry Geerts, Google CEO for Belgium and Luxembourg, spoke about the digital revolution, while digital strategy consultant Gerrie Smits covered the metaverse.

Highly informative contributions!

Internet of Things and other interactive stands

While one group of IT specialists listened to a keynote session, the other had the opportunity to explore the event’s interactive stands. Our external partner Editx was ready to kick off our Internet of Things (IoT) challenge and NCOI presented its training courses.

Marie Santocono was asked many great questions at the Collect&Go stand.

Our own teams were also there. There was a stand to playfully demonstrate the two biggest customer touch points of Collect&Go: the front end for services that we offer customers (difference between pick-up and delivery) and the handover application for couriers. The obstacle course with folding boxes also drew plenty of attention. There was always someone at Collect&Go, as there was at the majority of stands.

What an inspiring evening all round! It was fantastic to be able to connect with familiar and new faces and to interact with everyone who showed an interest in our Collect&Go stand. Everyone was so happy to be there, a really great atmosphere.

See you next year?

The responses to IT Connect were overwhelmingly positive. A pleasant, informative networking event to bring IT specialists together – it certainly was, and everyone left with a healthy dose of inspiration and energy. We hope to build on this year’s success with another event next year!
