An innovative idea can be the start of a captivating career. But working on a brand new project or starting your own business is not always easy. That is why creative people, entrepreneurs, and innovators could come get inspired at 99U Local: Gent on 17 September. Colruyt Group supported this event and of course took full part in the creative conversation.
99U wants to share best practices through articles, videos, and tips, in order to help creative professionals to put their ideas into practice. That is why for the first time ever a Local 99U event was organised in 27 cities worldwide from 14 to 18 September. 99U Local: Ghent was organised with the help of Colruyt Group and Stad Gent.
The event took place at KERK Gent, a meeting-place for ideas and creation. There were three inspiring speakers who shared their experiences of how they handled the challenges in their projects. Entrepreneur Jorn Vanysacker established the start-up rendeevoo in London; Jozefien Daelemans is editor-in-chief and founder of Charlie Magazine; and Rinus Van de Velde is an artist with a special creative process.
After the inspiration, it was time for action. The participants could network and ask pose their specific questions to experts. For Colruyt Group, Erik Willemse was in attendance. He is a User Experience strategist and expert in digital service design, user experience design and agile prototyping. In addition, starters could pitch their ideas in front of the camera in the 'Pitch Pit'. Jef Colruyt will watch these videos and he too will give advice and tips.
For Colruyt Group, this was a nice opportunity to honour its long tradition of inspiration and innovation. We always want to be open to creative impulses from the outside world, continue to discover ideas and implement innovations in all the layers of the company.
99U Local: Ghent was a rousing success, have a look for yourself.
