XTRA: now on smartwatch

As from 11 September, Colruyt Group customers can use their smartwatch as an Xtra customer card. They receive the advantages of each store and web shop if they have the QR code on their smartwatch scanned at the checkout. On 1 October, the 'old' customer cards of Colruyt, OKay, Bio-Planet and Dreambaby will expire. Customers who still use them today will find a new Xtra card in their letterbox.

XTRA customer card on a watch

The smartwatch is a digital watch with a small computer connected with a smartphone, in this case with the Xtra app. As with the Xtra card and app, customers automatically and immediately benefit from the specific advantages of each store and web shop when they have their personal QR code on their smartwatch scanned at the checkout. The Xtrawatch app only works with operating systems WatchOS (Apple) en Android Wear for now. This means the Xtrawatch app is not yet compatible with Tizen, the operating system of almost all Samsung devices. Customers cannot consult their Xtra profile or pay with their smartwatch.

Old customer cards expire on 1 October

On 1 October the Extra card of Colruyt, the OKay card, the Bio-Planet sticker and dreambaby² card will expire. From that day, customers can no longer use them in the corresponding stores. Almost 224,000 customers are still using these old customer cards today. Since Colruyt Group wants to make sure these customers will still benefit from the advantages in these stores, they will receive a new Xtra card in their letterbox mid-September. The first time they will use their Xtra card in the stores, their old customer card will expire (as will the Xtra card they received in April but have not used yet).
