We’re throwing our weight behind the UN’s sustainability agenda

We are exceedingly proud that we, Colruyt Group, can carry the title of ‘voice’ of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is wonderful recognition of our years of dedication to sustainability. The UN’s 17 SDGs run until 2030, and include reducing world poverty, fighting inequality and tackling climate change.

Making more progress together

The fact that there is worldwide agreement about a common sustainability agenda is a good thing. If everyone takes responsibility, from individuals through non-profit organisations, to corporations and governments, we’ll move forward together. And Colruyt Group is making its contribution to the entirety. We’re linking the UN’s ambitious targets to concrete challenges within a European retail context and are getting to work, together with our partners.

Sustainable Development Goals

Inspiration for a sustainable future

Along with 7 other Belgian organisations, we will enthuse the general public about the UN’s 17 SDGs. From now on, we will test all our initiatives against the global agenda and will communicate that clearly, both on this website and to all our staff and customers. By doing so, we hope to inspire people and organisations to take an active part in a more sustainable future.

We will also call on the efforts of our partner companies and organisations to achieve sustainability within the framework of the SDGs. This increases the likelihood of more partners teaming up with one another and setting up new projects.

SDGs in practice: the Sustainability Report

The sustainable development goals form the ideal basis for reporting on the social themes on which we have an impact as a group. In our Sustainability Report, seven of the seventeen SDGs form a common element in all of our achievements and how we create sustainable added value for our customers, employees, investors, etc. every day. The report gives a good picture of where we currently stand, because sustainable entrepreneurship is never complete. We are constantly learning.

17 universal goals

The UN's Sustainable Development Agenda includes 17 objectives recognised by all countries. They are grouped around the five Ps: people, planet, prosperity, peace and participation.
