Reopening Colruyt Liège and Collect&Go pick-up point along Boulevard de la Constitution

9 November 2020

In the Bavière quarter, a flourishing neighbourhood within a stone's throw of the centre On Thursday 12 November, Colruyt Liège reopens its doors at Boulevard de la Constitution after a few months' renovation work. Inhabitants of the fast evolving quarter can shop close to home again or pick up their groceries at the larger Collect&Go pick-up point. The larger car park has a charging post for electric cars now. And what’s more, with this renovation Colruyt pursued sustainable development.

A store with an ideal location
The Bavière quarter in Liège receives much attention and revives thanks to city regeneration in recent years. Store manager Alexandre Lising explains: "Living in this lively neighbourhood is great. They built many new flats here. The inhabitants are possible customers we would like to help in our store. The large store surface was completely renovated and the self-service butcher's store has a new look."

Collect&Go: quick and easy
The Collect&Go pick-up point is larger and modern now. The pick-up point is on the left side of the store entrance. "Collect&Go is Colruyt Group's online shopping service. Customers send their shopping list to collectandgo.be or via the app, and the Collect&Go co-workers have their products ready at the pick-up point on the day and time of their choice," the store manager says.

Environment-minded
Colruyt pursues sustainability. The renovation of this store also fits in with Colruyt’s view of sustainable development. Most striking is the heat recovery system. The store manager explains: "Our cooling installations throw out heat, which we use to warm up the store. We thus optimise our energy consumption and diminish CO2 emissions."

Safe reopening
Because of corona measures, there is no open evening when the store reopens. Store manager Alexandre Lising: "Come and discover your new Colruyt and we will have a small welcome gift for you. My team and I are looking forward to welcoming everyone safely in our store. For this reason, we are asking our customers to shop alone and to observe all government rules."
