Renovated Colruyt Merksem: the fresh-market is twice as large

30 November 2020

Colruyt Merksen (Roosensplein) opens its doors again on Wednesday 2 December. The store was renovated and made one fourth larger. The fresh-market and Collect&Go pick-up point are now twice as large. This means shopping comfortably and choosing from an even broader range of products. Not just the store was renovated but the covered car park as well. There is a large bicycle shed for cyclists and charging posts for electric cars and bicycles.

Pleasant shopping on 1.743 m²

The renovated store in Merksem was expanded to 1.743 m², a fourth larger than before. Store manager Hans Verachten: "A larger store means that we can offer a larger assortment. Our fresh-market is now twice as large. The butcher's department with serf-service counter received a new look. You can see our qualified butchers at work in an open workshop, where they cut and pack the fresh meat. If you have questions or a special order, you can simply ask them."

Let Colruyt prepare your shopping

The Collect&Go pick-up point also doubled in space. Collect&Go is Colruyt Group's handy online shopping service. Customers send their shopping list to collectandgo.be or via the app, and the Collect&Go co-workers have their products ready at the pick-up point on the day and time of their choice. "Thanks to our larger pick-up point, we can help our customers even better", says the store manager.

Improved accessibility

Colruyt Merksem (Roosensplein) can be reached easily and safely. The new covered car park has a wide entrance along Molenlei. A charging post for electric cars is available. We also thought of cyclists. The new bicycle shed has no less than 60 places and 2 charging posts for electric bikes.

Safe reopening

Because of corona measures, there is no open evening when the store reopens. Store manager Hans Verachten: "Come and discover your renovated Colruyt and we offer a small welcome gift. My team and I are looking forward to welcoming everyone safely in our store. For this reason, we are asking our customers to shop alone and to observe all government rules."
