A supermarket in the city centre

Spar Neufchâteau is at 45 Avenue de la Gare, 500 metres from the Hôtel de Ville. The car park has practically doubled in size and now has 67 parking spaces instead of 35. The store surface area is 680 m² and the storefront bears the Spar Colruyt Group logo. The new interior design exudes freshness and modernity. Highly practical, it combines high and low shelves. Patrick: “Low shelves have been placed at the entrance so that customers immediately have an overview of the store. The bakery is also by the entrance so locals can buy their fresh bread more quickly in the morning without having to go all the way around the store”. In addition, the bakery is equipped with environmentally-friendly technology such as LED lighting and heat recovery from the refrigeration system to heat the retail space.

New tills and digital screens

The tills have also been redesigned. An employee transfers the shopping from one shopping trolley to another or from the shopping trolley to a bag. This makes contact with the customer even more personal and reduces waiting times at the till. In addition, digital screens inform customers about the products and give them ideas for recipes and meals.

Fresh local products

Patrick and Carine are doubling down on fresh local products: “We offer a whole host of local products including beers, fruit juices and Maitrank (May wine). We also sell cured meats and farm products, not to mention organic and fair trade products”. In addition, Patrick, Carine and their team are putting on a great spread to meet their customers’ new needs: “We have developed a complete catering section with fresh dishes prepared on site: hot and cold, varied and seasonal”.
