Mobility: goods, employees and customers

Trucks which deliver goods, employees who drive to their workplace, customers who do their shopping, etc. All our activities have a major impact on traffic. And we’re really aware of that. We’re focusing on efficient goods transport, and more sustainable employee mobility through different projects.

All about goods transport

Our trucks criss-cross the country every day. So we think hard about the kilometres they drive: our goal is sustainable and efficient transport. We limit mileage, avoid peak times and work for a greener fleet.

We limit the kilometres our trucks drive thanks to the high load rate of 95% or more.

International goods transport

The goods which arrive at our logistics centres have often been on a long international journey by boat, train, truck, etc. We also take measures to limit the impact of that transport.

Many of our goods arrive by boat and are then transferred to our distribution centre by truck.

Smart to work

By train, car, bicycle… Every day, over 29,000 employees make their way to work. On an average weekday, they account for about 1 million kilometres. About a quarter of them have opted for green work transport. And we’re happy to encourage them!

A quarter of our employees come to work by bike, public transport or some other means of green transport.

Going shopping

Every day our customers drive a lot of kilometres between their homes and our shops. We bear that in mind when we select the locations for our new shops or combisites. Accessibility is very important. And thanks to our wide network of collection points, customers can collect their online orders close to home. Will you have to drive kilometres to get your Dreamland order? Not at all. You can just collect it from your local OKay.

Jambes combisite
On combisites like the one in Jambes, you’ll find a number of our shops in one place. Convenient and easily accessible!
