Making conscious consumption easy for our customers
Conscious consumption sometimes requires time, knowledge, or a bigger budget. What if Colruyt Group made that easier, step by step? As a Belgian retailer with more than 2.8 million registered customers, we can make a big difference. That’s why we’re focusing today on more plant-based alternatives, a clear Green Score, and our sustainable rewards programme.
Together, more than 2.8 million customers are really making a difference
Our customers hold the key to more sustainable consumption. Through the choices they make, they either limit their negative impact or promote a positive one. For example, by choosing lentils or plant-based ground meat in their pasta sauce, one customer can reduce the CO2 emissions of their meal. Another customer, by choosing a bar of dark chocolate from Boni, can help ensure that the farmer who grows the cocoa beans earns a living income. And those positive choices made collectively by more than 2.8 million customers are the path to more conscious consumption.
Making conscious consumption easy: that’s our mission
As the Colruyt Group, we have a role to play in making it easier for our customers to make conscious and positive choices. We’re already doing this successfully with Nutri-Score: a handy tool that helps customers choose the most balanced option within a product range.
But our customers also expect clarity and guidance when it comes to the environmental impact of products. It’s not always clear which choices are best. The Green Score makes that easier: Green Score A+, A or B? You’re on the right track! Green Score F? There’s room for improvement. Yet another simple way to make more conscious choices.
In short: conscious consumption can sometimes be complex, and customers can’t be expected to work it out for every product when they go shopping. That’s why we make it as easy as possible for customers: with the proven Nutri-Score as well as an attractive selection of plant-based alternatives, the handy Green Score, and our linked sustainable rewards programme.
