- Reducing the social impact of our products
Improving the social impact of our products
We recognise that, as a retailer, our products and services have a social impact not only on those who grow, manufacture or process them, but also on the animals reared for consumption. We therefore take responsibility within our supply chains. Together with our partners, we are committed to respecting human rights, ensuring fair opportunities for farmers, and promoting animal welfare.
Due diligence: assessing our impact
Through our due diligence policy, we are actively committed to making improvements in our supply chains—both locally and internationally—and in our own business operations, in the areas of environment, biodiversity and human rights. We assess the impact of our products and services so that we can subsequently prevent and address risks, such as deforestation or child labour. In this way, we work together with partners to create a positive impact.
Our due diligence policy is based on the United Nations’ Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s (OECD) Due Diligence Guidance for Corporate Social Responsibility.
