With around 850 colleagues, Colruyt Group Technics & Engineering provides the technology behind our stores, production and logistics: from study and design to installation and maintenance. We keep Colruyt Group’s sustainability goals firmly in focus and support them with innovative solutions.
What does Colruyt Group’s technical department do?
Our expertise is brought together in three areas: industrial automation, operational technology (OT) and support. Each area contributes to our mission by providing reliable infrastructure, automating processes and developing smart technologies.
Industrial automation brings together our expertise in automation, robotics and machine building. We develop innovative and scalable solutions for stores, production and logistics. We do this ourselves or together with industrial partners.
Operational technology (OT) connects technology and IT. It is the driving force behind the digital transformation of our technical infrastructure. This includes robotics, sensors, image recognition and platforms providing real-time data.
Our support teams maintain and repair our vehicle and machinery fleet. They also provide support in areas such as security, theft prevention, catering and cleaning. In this way, they help ensure a safe and efficient organisation.
Technical training
We invest heavily in developing technical talent. Through our own technical school, in-house training and partnerships with educational institutions, we train skilled professionals who help build the future of Colruyt Group. We do this through a wide range of training courses, e-learning modules and VR modules, guided by an experienced team of technicians and trainers. They share their practical knowledge in areas including pneumatics, electric motors, robotics, PLCs (programmable logic controllers), sustainability and innovation.
