Charter ‘Voedsel verbindt boer en burger’: strengthening local food in Flanders

The ‘Voedsel verbindt boer en burger’ (Food connects farmers and citizens) charter is a joint commitment by organisations from the Flemish agri-food chain to strengthen the link between producer, trade, hospitality and consumer. The signatories are committed to making local food more visible, promoting the origin and quality of our products and encouraging consumers to consciously choose local food. Through collaboration, knowledge sharing, education and joint communication, the charter aims to contribute to a more sustainable and resilient food system, greater appreciation for craftsmanship and a stronger local economy. This commitment was made by retail at the sector level.
