- REPASYS: reusable packaging for fresh food
REPASYS: reusable packaging for fresh food
The REPASYS project explores how to introduce reusable food packaging on a large scale. The project aims to map the necessary system innovation around reusable food packaging: consumer behaviour, logistics processes, digital traceability, circular business models and feasibility for all links. The Mechelen mushroom trays are a test case to evaluate this complex chain in real-world conditions. The switch to reusable food packaging reduces waste and strengthens the circular economy.
REPASYS is a collaborative project between flagship clusters Flanders’ FOOD and VIL, supported by VLAIO, and carried out in collaboration with their strategic partner Pack4Food and academic partner University of Antwerp (REuseLab).
